Abstract: This research examines the impact of government policies on the quality of vocational education in Nigeria, focusing on regulatory frameworks, funding mechanisms, and institutional governance. Government policies play a pivotal role in shaping the structure, standards, and accessibility of vocational education, yet their effectiveness in driving quality improvements remains a subject of debate. The study aims to (1) assess the influence of policy interventions on vocational education outcomes, (2) analyze challenges and barriers in policy implementation, and (3) propose recommendations for enhancing policy coherence and effectiveness. A survey research design is employed to gather perspectives from policymakers, educators, and industry representatives. A sample size of 400 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to ensure representation from federal and state-level educational institutions and regulatory bodies in Edo State. Case studies will examine policy initiatives and their impact on vocational institutions and stakeholders. Findings revealed varying degrees of policy implementation effectiveness, influenced by funding constraints, bureaucratic challenges, and inconsistent regulatory oversight. Recommendations include aligning policy objectives with industry needs, increasing investment in vocational education infrastructure and teacher training, and establishing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure accountability and continuous improvement in vocational education quality.
